Today, Wilshire Precision is at the leading edge of the precision manufacturing industry with ongoing contracts to build complete electric motors for Military and Commercial applications. All manufacturing and assembly is done at our facility in North Hollywood, with strict in-process quality control and an advanced MRP system to assure that every component, large or small, meets or exceeds our customers’ requirements. Our state-of-the-art facility is Nadcap approved and certified to ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D, and is designed around the principles of lean manufacturing to maximize efficiency and product reliability. In addition to our manufacturing services, we offer engineering consultation to help you design manufacturability into your products, and deliver value and reliability to your customers.

2010
Wilshire Precision receives ISO 9001-2008 & AS9100 certification.
2009
Work begins on a production contract for the V-22 Osprey Blade-Fold Motor.
2007
Wilshire Precision receives a production contract and begins building the G450 Gulfstream Horizontal Elevator Trim Acutator Motor.
2006
A production contract is awarded and Wilshire begins building complete F-35 JSF Carrier Wing-Fold Motors.
2004
The first motor is built at Wilshire Precision – two complete motor units for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
1993
Wilshire develops a gear manufacturing cell to hob and shape gears and splines using CNC equipment.
1989
The facility becomes fully automated with an MRP System to manage work-flow on the production floor.
1987
Manufacturing begins on motor components and complete rotor assemblies.
1986
Wilshire Precision begins casting its own electric motor rotors.
1983
Wilshire Precision upgrades its manufacturing equipment with modern CNC lathes and mills.
1978
Second-generation Tom Lewis comes to work for Wilshire Precision. The company completes work on a new, 15,000-square-foot building in North Hollywood, California.
1961
The growing Wilshire Precision relocates to a new, 4,500-square-foot facility in North Hollywood, California.
1952
Wilshire Precision acquires its first major customer – Garrett AirResearch.
1951
Harold Lewis starts Wilshire Precision as a small machine shop on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.

New Assembly Room and Motor-Building Cells
June 2009
Wilshire Precision has completed a new, 2,500-square-foot assembly room with motor-building cells. This climate-controlled, clean facility has the capacity to handle assembly tasks for our different electric motor building programs simultaneously – each with its own, custom-fitted assembly cell. Currently, Wilshire Precision is building and assembling electric motors for their existing customers.
We are proud to offer our customers this new, state-of-the-art facility designed specifically for building high-tech, precision electric aerospace motors. We invite you to tour our new assembly room and find out more about what Wilshire Precision can do for you.

Wilshire Precision Completes New Motors
June 2009
We are pleased to announce that Wilshire Precision has completed the fabrication and assembly of a complete motor and power drive unit for an ongoing military aircraft program for Moog. These eight units were thoroughly tested at the Moog facility in Torrance, California, and passed with flying colors. Seven additional units are currently being built at Wilshire Precision, with many more expected to follow.
